FIFA 23 Predciton: Will Sterling And Tuchel Storm To The Top?
Raheem Sterling is not one of the absolute regulars at Manchester City. Therefore, the winger could be drawn to Chelsea. A good deal for FIFA 23?
There are stormy months behind Chelsea FC. Usually endowed with a financial advantage by the owner Roman Abramovich, the Russian patron became a problem for the Blues due to his proximity to the Kremlin. Because sanctions of the British government in the course of the Russian invasion of Ukraine made the Londoners temporarily incapacitated.
Sterling as the start of a new era?
With the sale of the traditional club to a US investment consortium, the team of ex-Mainzer and Dortmunder Thomas Tuchel can now attack on the transfer market – and with Raheem Sterling (88 OVR) from Manchester City, they have a goal of the highest Category checked out.
It is obvious that the Londoners have a need on the wing in real life as well as in FIFA: With Christian Pulisic (82) and Hakim Ziyech (84) there are only two wing cards with an overall rating above 80 in the squad. Another talent is lurking in Callum Hudson-Odoi (77), but the homegrown talent has been in a form crisis for months.
In FIFA 23, Sterling would therefore be placed in a CFC wing pincer. No wonder, since he has high values in all the important values for a strong winger: With 91 pace, he hardly has to hide from a full-back and his acceleration (95) means he is fast, especially in the first few meters. Pulisic can still keep up to some extent with a pace of 89, but Sterling cuts a much better figure compared to Ziyech (78) and Hudson-Odoi (82).
Trump card of accuracy
In addition, the England international has a bit ahead of his potential competitors, especially in terms of scoring. With a shot value of 82, he clearly outclasses "Captain America" Pulisic (70) and the possibly willing to emigrate Moroccan Ziyech (76). Hudson-Odoi can be safely disregarded with a rating of 67.
Sterling's good combination of positional play (91) and completion (85) stands out in particular. So once the reigning European vice-champion has escaped the opposing chain, the chances are good that he will score – at least on the strong right foot. The left slip is not necessarily a goal guarantee with three stars Weak Foot. Nevertheless, the accuracy is a predicate that the current wingers of the Londoners can not earn.
That leaves two crucial categories for an attractive winger: dribbling and passing. The former is also one of the strengths of the 27-year-old Citizen, who knows how to impress with a value of 87. The particularly important characteristics of balance (93) and agility (94) are among his highest dribbling stats, which are rounded off by four-star skills.
They make the decisive difference to Pulisic, who at first glance seems to be comparable with 86 dribbling and four stars for special movement, but has to be torn down in agility (87) and balance (88).
Does even a competitor benefit?
The passing game, meanwhile, is Sterling's Achilles heel. Here it is only enough for a 79 rating, especially the important for wingers flanks (79), but also long passes (69) disappoint. Especially against the strong Ziyech no comparison. The Lion from Atlas plays big with a pass value of 87 and clearly steals the show for Sterling in his problem areas with 88 flanks and 89 long passes.
Nevertheless, "Raheem the Dream" would be a valuable alternative for Chelsea and would bring depth to the game of the Blues with its explosiveness – which he at best converts into countable by his coldness. Especially with opposite pulisic and the also very nimble Timo Werner (91 pace), the speed in the storm could bring some defensive lines worry wrinkles.
Last but not least, Ziyech might also be a beneficiary of the new addition. Because instead of a competitor on the right wing, the noble technician could take on a somewhat more central role and stage Pulisic and Sterling with his overview and playing strength. Sidemen like Kai Havertz and Mason Mount promise appealing combination football. An exciting opportunity with which Chelsea could start a new era after Abramovich and aim for more titles.
