The Infernal Hordes

The Infernal Hordes is a new endgame activity that takes place in Hell. Players will be able to fight wave after wave of demon forces and customize their experience by choosing from three infernal offers between each wave. These offers grant both a boon and a bane, and players must carefully consider which Temptations they want to pursue during their infernal run. The goal of this game mode is to replay it, and Blizzard has built a broad set of enemies and powers for players to choose from.

Enemies

Players can expect to face a variety of enemies in The Infernal Hordes, including demons from the Lexicon of Diablo's monster families. Additionally, players will encounter goatmen who have been banished to Hell and now fight by Mesto's side, as well as unlucky Souls that marched on Hell from the Cathedral of Light and have been revived in Hell to fight against them.

Powers

The most exciting part of The Infernal Hordes is the variety of powers that players can choose from. These powers have the potential to change the way a player's character fundamentally plays, adding lots of replayability to the game mode. Blizzard has built a broad set of powers for players to choose from, ensuring that each run is unique and exciting.

Seasonal Progression

To become powerful enough to confront The Infernal Hordes, players must earn reputation and progress onto World Tier 3. Additionally, Blizzard has introduced micro dungeons called Hell Breaches that offer a glimpse at The Infernal Hordes mechanics and give players a chance to learn the mechanics before they confront The Infernal Hordes at World Tier 3.

Eternal and Seasonal Realm

The Infernal Hordes will appear in the Eternal and Seasonal Realm, meaning that it will be available in both the permanent and seasonal modes. Players can access The Infernal Hordes by earning their way up to World Tier 3 and completing an eternal quest line that takes them back to Hell.

Fel Council

The Co-fin boss in this season is the Fel Council, which consists of five council members that players will only fight three of at once. This allows Blizzard to create many different flavors of the boss fight for the Fel Council. Players must defeat the Fel Council and collect their treasure by consuming Burning Ether, which is gathered during the Infernal Hordes activity.

Burning Ether

Burning Ether is the resource that players gather during The Infernal Hordes activity. Players can spend this resource at the end of the activity to earn new uniques, new legendaries, and rare materials. These new uniques and legendaries have been forged in Hell and have unique looks and effects, making them exciting to collect.

Death in The Infernal Hordes

Death in The Infernal Hordes is a big deal. Players have a fixed number of revives to get to the end of their run, and at higher difficulty levels, the game will start taking away those revives. Blizzard has created new ways for monsters to ambush players, adding to the challenge and excitement of the game mode.

Seasonal Quest Line and Eternal Quest Line

The seasonal quest line and the Eternal Quest line have lots of little surprises and twists and turns in them. Blizzard has buried some surprises deep within The Infernal Hordes, ensuring that players have a great time playing through them.
